About Me Doug Sturgeon is an experienced wedding, portrait and special events photographer living in Toronto, who strives for perfection in capturing the essence and magic of each moment - be it candid or formal- by putting his clients at ease. Doug's lighting and photographic expertise informs his creative process, and over the past two decades he has successfully reflected the unique character of every person who has stepped in front of his camera. His down-to-earth approach is refreshing, and you can be sure of an authentic and inspired session each and every time. Doug has had the pleasure of photographing politicians, royalty, and celebrities such as Hilary Clinton, Sarah Duchess of York, Jane Goodall, Connie Chung, and Diane Keaton, to name a few. His notable commercial clientele includes the Shangri La (Toronto), Goldman Sachs (New York), and Dragons Den. As a graduate of the Humber College Photography program who went on to complete a 6 year professional apprenticeship, Doug has a strong understanding of both the business and the art of photography, proven by the success of his special event photography business, Eclipse Photography, celebrating their 20th anniversary. Doug is always reaching for new heights. When he's not behind the camera, you'll find him pounding the pavement training for his next marathon or Triathlon: in 2012 Doug competed in the Ironman Mont-Tremblant, finishing in just over 13 hours - a huge personal achievement. He is also an avid globe-trotter, having explored 48 countries on all 7 continents, the most recent being Antarctica. Doug's love of adventure and his pursuit of excellence come through in everything he does. From trekking to the Everest Base Camp and leading photo safaris in Kenya to photographing Unique people and capturing the love of newlyweds, Doug's ambition and his passion for people fuel his work (and it shows).
